Unlearning What We Learned About Shampooing

Hey Beauties! If you're Mama and Aunties were like mine, you were taught that a good hair wash & shampoo consists of getting good and deep into the scalp...most of the time using your nails. That's not right! But, why?

You should try to use your fingertips when cleansing your hair

If your acalp is itchy, a good scratch might feel really good. But using your fingernails could cause unnecessary damage to your scalp.  Instead, use the pads of your fingers, along with a little pressure, and that is all you need for a thorough cleanse.

Stick to sulfate-free shampoos

Shampoos containing sulfates strip the hair of its natural moisture. Instead, use sulfate-free shampoos, it should read on the bottle, to gently cleanse your hair and retain your natural oils.  It's  the healthier option for your hair retention goals and overall hair health!
